Authentic Cottage-Style Homes with Vintage Material
Our primary focus for the last several years has
been on Cottage Style homes.  Reinventing older
traditional design for today's world.  Good
architecture is the utilization of authentic materials
and the use of good design.  We try to use
materials such as wood and natural based products.
Marmoleum or Linoleum is a favorite.
Marmoleum/Linoleum adds a vintage or modern
look to any project and is an all natural product.  It is
created from linseed oil and is environmentally
friendly.  There are many distributors who are
reintroducing the product to the market.

We also do extensive remodeling jobs from
complete renovations to utilizing new ides in older
homes.
New Neighborhoods & New Urbanism
There is much to be said about appropriate
land usage.  Whether a new home is on a
private lot, in a neighborhood or in a clustered
community.  The placement of a home is key.
We have been extensively involved with the
"New Neighborhood" in Empire Michigan since
2003.  In the last four years we have built
eight custom homes with-in the neighborhood.
 An extension of Empire's existing
neighborhood street grid which includes alleys
and community sewers and wells.  A photo of
one of our homes was recently included in an
article pertaining to New Urbanism in
Northwest Michigan and the New
Neighborhoods contribution to the idea.  The
publication "Going to Town" was developed by
the Michigan Land Use Institute.  New
Urbanism fits into our style of thinking;
historical authenticity with design elements to
meet modern needs.
